This is a fun idea! If you have read the above recomended documents, then you may now have a fairly good understanding of how the GIT works.

The previous writings are mostly concerned with explaining how the device works and information that centers around a fully enclosed craft.

The GITPACK tm can be considered more of a sport machine, a fun little backpack-personal lifter. This is one use of the GIT for leisure and open air exploration. Oh sure, there will be 'legitimate' uses such as emergency response, search and rescue, air patrol, military (shudder), or any need that can be filled with a compact, fast, foot launched VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) craft.

The best configuration I have looked at is a strap-on backpack frame that holds you into the thing. Two thrust rings are mounted to the frame. The frame also keeps the energy source (gas engine/generator or whatever), accessories (such as radio and running lights etc.) all collected into a complete package that you strap on, start up and go!

Two parallel thrust rings are mounted so that the top each of ring is over each shoulder, and the bodies of the rings embrace the upper torso.

A simple power transfer means is the friction drive wheel version, in this case using friction rings (so you can put your arms through the centers) that are gear driven from the back, where the motor means are mounted. Although it would be difficult to pull an efficiency increasing vacuum in the drive rings, the friction rings would hold the drive balls in place when the unit is off and sitting in the closet.

Each ring has a control assembly mounted on the outer rim that allows a very fine directional and variable thrust control. See GITBettr for a description of the types of control mechanisms possible.

I like the bare bones unit that uses 'motorcycle' grips to adjust thrust, similar to the throttle grip. Both control assemblies can rotate around the mounted rings. The inside ring half is secured to the frame, and the outside half floats in the control ring, captured by the control assembly and prevented from spinning with posts attatched to the inside rings.

If you will open the gitman01 picture, you will see the basic mounting of the rings on a 3D businessman model. As you can see, the control grips are arranged on the control assembly to be directly in front of you when in the hover position; the control is pinching the ring at the bottom, directing the thrust straight up on both rings.

When both grips are equally increased, thrust is developed similar to two cables attatched to your harness, pulling you up.

Rotation of the control assembly (pushing up, or pulling down on the grips) will direct the thrust at different points around the rings. If both control ring grips are rotated down, the thrusts of both drive rings are directed up and forward, allowing you to move in that direction once you have launched.

Of course, you can get more complicated with, say, computer control of the rings to free your hands, etc., but the simplest is described here. Of course position and "throttle" locks will help.

As you know, these rings at operating velocity, are rather powerful gyroscopes, with all of the benefits (and problems) of the inherent stability.

Gyros have the trait of moving any applied pressure trying to move them out of their plane by 90 degrees. For example, if you apply more 'throttle' to one race, the resulting increased thrust on one ring will try to roll you over on your side, but since the gyros shift that pressure, a slow spin (facing N,E,S,W,N etc.) will result. The direction of spin will be dependant on the direction of orbit in the rings.

If you rotate one ring to point up and back, with the other pointing up and forward, The attempt to spin you like a top will be shifted into a roll motion, your legs coming up sideways. If you were traveling prone over the land then we would call that same motion a yaw, similar to the rudder in a regular airplane.

If traveling prone over the land (the air is pushing your legs back behind you), and you increase the thrust on one race, a roll will result (similar to airplane ailerons or banking), and you'll be looking up at the sky with the earth at your back, perhaps to see if that helicopter is still chasing you.

Pitch control on this particular craft is simply the chosen thrust direction, in combination with gravity, and the aerodynamic forces acting on your body and legs.

I've been flying this thing in my head for some time now, and personally I like this use of the GIT better than the flying circular wing (saucer) design. The freedom of movement, unlimited take off and landing capability, (you could land inside of a large chimney if need be), and relatively low expense (should be about the price of a good motorcycle) make this device a real kick to contemplate.

Of course there will be some problems brought about by this design, such as 'GITcycle' gangs, bad guys making a fast GITaway, military types using it as fast assault capacity (notice how I grouped problems?), and for parents, imagine junior having access to the wide open spaces!

Problems plague almost every new invention; people seek ways to make trouble with any new way to do things; that's just the way it is. If these problems are used as an excuse to ban this thing, we will all lose.

Anyone with access to a machine shop could build this craft, and then only black market units would be available to those with an unlawful use for this device. I suggest that making these available to law enforcement would help keep things even, and life will go on as before, some good, some bad.
^
In all, I really like this invention. If you would like to see it happen, get involved, spread the word! If you have access to machining and/or foundry facilities, make a model, experiment!

If you believe suppression is a reality, spread the word underground. If you think that suppression is just a bunch of hooey, or, you're just fed up with the fecal matter handed us by the corporate buggy whip makers, and have a desire to do something dangerous, get vocal!

The UFO's of ancient days (and today) of course do not officially exist. The fact that the physics of this thing can be understood by non-engineering types leads me to believe that a group on earth is actively suppressing this knowledge, keeping it for themselves and treating us like cattle. Perhaps non-earthers are in cohoots with an elitist military intelligence group and have agreed to keep us bottled up.

These are the folks that let the antique technology of the space shuttle kill the brave souls that went up in Challenger, when a simpler, cheaper, cleaner, more versatile method was available to us decades ago. I, of course, cannot be sure that we aren't possibly living under threat of anihilation if this idea gets out on earth, but if so, then I want some of us to escape that fate by getting a few of us much more mobile.

If the above scenario is pure fiction, and UFO's are truely unknown to the top brass, then I should be able to patent. If an idea originated on another planet and was unknown in the public domain here, will that void patent claims? How about every other invention here on earth, will they be voided because a Rigellatin has date priority on his or her (or it's, don't want to be sexist!) planet?

This should be interesting! Watch for vehement attacks on this idea, that should let you know who to trust in the scientific community.

Just to be safe, distribute copies of this information to trusted friends first, then observe what happens to those above you in the distribution chain, and act accordingly.

I am aware of a rather large number of ideas that have met with the dark forces and lost.

I can understand why humans would be penned up and prevented from 'escaping' our cradle (zoo?).

This chain letter in unusual form, is my attempt to defend myself and loved ones from harm, while at the same time getting this information out. Unfortunately prescience and logic force me to understand that some of us will get hurt. Please cogitate mightily before passing on this information to others and exposing them (leading back to you) to danger or even doubt.

OK! I have given you a way out, sit on your duff, continue your safe sheep-like existence and be an accidental spectator!

Don't take my conclusions for it, it's simple enough to duplicate the models and experiments that I have described in linked text. I have projected simple obvious improvements acknowledging everyday technology.

If enough of the citizenry in this world rush to disclose to their respective patent authorities their improved use of this idea, the better chance we all have in seeing this possible reality.

I hereby declare that the contained original information is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and ability to extrapolate.
